Mangiferin, also known as Guanzhimurin or mangiferin, is a carbone glycoside of tetrahydropyrone, belonging to diphenylpyrone flavonoids, mainly derived from dried roots of perennial herbaceous plant Anemae of Liliaceae, tree bark of almond mango leaves, roots of Hainanwu of Pterocarcinaceae, etc. It has a variety of pharmacological activities, such as relieving cough, relieving asthma, eliminating phlegm, immunity, anti-inflammatory, analgesia, protecting liver, promoting gallbladder, anti-lipid peroxidation, anti-cancer, anti-diabetes, anti-bacterial, anti-viral and so on.
